A petition was delivered to the Italian embassy in Santo Domingo
The Italian residents in Las Terrenas want an honorary consulate to be established in order to represent them.
The President of the Committee of Italians in Santo Domingo, Dr. Ermanno Filosa, has delivered a few days ago the head of the consular services of the Italian Embassy in Santo Domingo, Dr. Olindo De Agostino, a petition signed by forty five Italian citizens living in Las Terrenas.
The purpose is to establish an honorary consulate in this tourist town of the province of Samana, in the north of the Dominican Republic.
The number two of the Italian embassy said to Filosa he will closely examine the petition an that he would communicate the decision of the Italian authorities in the shortest time possible.
