Inabie delivers more than 1.8 million school kits

The National Student Welfare Institute (Inabie) reported that it completed the delivery of school supplies as scheduled, reaching for the first time more than 1.8 million uniforms and school supplies between the months of April and August of this year.

The educational districts 10-01- Villa Mella; 10-05 Herrera and 10-06 Mendoza received the last truckloads. Inabie achieved its goal of delivering school supplies on time so that all students who use the uniform provided by the Ministry of Education can attend classrooms from the first day of school.

In addition, they assure that the distribution represented an economic relief for the benefited families. It also represents almost three times more than the highest number of kits ever delivered, which only amounted to 650,000 units.

The kits delivered by Inabie in the regional and educational districts to school principals consisted of pants, polocher, shoes, socks and a backpack containing pencils, notebooks, ruler, eraser and a set of pencils.

The institution reiterated the process of investigation of two complaints of sales made. Regarding the school breakfast, the institution guaranteed that it will start this Monday.

New recipes for school lunch

Inabie reported significant changes in the school lunch menu for the 2024-2025 school year. New recipes and products will be implemented, as well as an extensive monitoring program.

For this new 2024-2025 school year, students will receive reduced sugar muffins for breakfast, made from oats, corn, carrots, coconut and banana. These will be alternated with other products such as vegetable bread, flour bread, corn bread and oatmeal cookies. Along with morning milk rations to which sugar and fat reductions have been made.
