After complying with all the protocols and having the permits from all the entities involved in the construction process of a new hotel building, work has begun on La Ceiba, the macro-project that is part of the expansion of the Lopesan Hotel Group in the Dominican Republic.
The information was offered to arecoa.com by Carlos Jiménez Ruiz, director of Development for the Caribbean Area of Lopesan Hotel Group, who added that “this September 2024 we have definitely started the construction of the hotel with all the permits and with a forecast of opening in 2026”.
He recalled that the property, which will be next to the Lopesan Costa Bávaro Resort, Spa & Casino, will add about 1,000 rooms to the country’s lodging offer.
“It is a concept very similar to the Lopesan Costa Bávaro, although it will have a notoriety for being a more attractive and differentiated product. It will not be similar to any other hotel in the area,” he said.
He indicated that one of the highlights of the project will be the way in which nature will be included and given prominence throughout the hotel. “It will be a very natural hotel, with a lot of water, more pools, a wave pool, water eyes, wild river, among others… and it will have very specific amenities, adapted to the environment that will make it a reference”.
The executive also said that the project will have a labor contribution of around 1,800 employees directly on the property.
It is recalled that La Ceiba is the priority expansion project of the Spanish hotel group, since it is a work that is valued at about 350 million dollars, so all the attention of the company is focused on it.
