Skyhigh Dominicana launches sale of its new flight to Puerto Rico

Skyhigh Dominicana formally announced the launch of its new route connecting Santo Domingo with Aguadilla, in the western region of Puerto Rico, starting October 3. The new service, which will operate with two weekly flights, marks a significant milestone in the expansion of air connectivity between the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.

“Initially we will have 2 weekly flights: Mondays and Thursdays; and they will be operated in Embraer 190 aircraft, with a capacity of 97 passengers, 9 in business class and 88 in economy class and Embraer 175 with a capacity of 88 economy class seats,” announced the airline’s vice president, Cesarina Beauchamp.

She detailed that the flight will have a duration of 40 minutes, departing from the José Francisco Peña Gómez Las Américas International Airport (AILA) at 3:00 in the afternoon, arriving at the Rafael Hernández International Airport in Aguadilla at 3:40 in the afternoon and returning at 5:00 in the afternoon, arriving at the Las Américas International Airport at 5:40 in the afternoon.

Tickets are now available for purchase on the airline’s website and at authorized travel agencies, with competitive prices and designed to make the travel experience accessible and memorable for all passengers, according to a press release.

To ensure a comfortable and convenient experience for all travelers, Skyhigh Dominicana includes in all its tickets luggage, which allows to carry at no additional cost: a 70-pound suitcase and a 15-pound carry-on bag, as well as drinks and snacks throughout the flight.

“Our focus is to provide high quality service and accessibility to our customers. We want to make travel between the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico easy and enjoyable,” he added.

In addition, he said that “we are developing plans to expand our routes, with future connections from Miami and other destinations in the region.”

Beauchamp highlighted the importance of this new connection: “This flight will not only facilitate access to an exceptional tourist destination, but will also boost commercial and cultural exchange between Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. It is an opportunity to promote economic growth and generate new possibilities for both our passengers and local communities. In addition, it will encourage multi-destination tourism, allowing passengers to connect with other Skyhigh destinations, such as Aruba, Curacao, Havana, French Caribbean, Miami, among others.”
