The Energy Commission of the Chamber of Deputies met with representative sectors of tourism communities of Las Terrenas and Las Galeras in order to define a way to reduce the price of electricity in an area.
The main meeting was held at the Sports of Las Terrenas, where almost all the participants agreed in demanding the intervention of the authorities to achieve a reduction in electricity rates in the area.
Some of them complained about the fact that the community of Las Terrenas doesn’t receive the subsidy granted by the State to other electricity distributors.
Luz y Fuerza company for its part once again recalled the efforts it made to achieve a reduction in costs through energy production with natural gas and the construction of an wind farm.
